Highline Beta Selected as One of the Best Workplaces for Innovators in 2021 by Fast Company
Fast Company recently released their 2021 list of best workplaces for innovators, and we’re excited to be recognized for a second year in a row. The last 18 months have been incredibly challenging for everyone, dealing with a global pandemic, working remotely, and navigating a time of real uncertainty. Throughout all of that, the Highline Beta team has persevered and continued to work incredibly hard to build new ventures, run pilot program accelerators and launch new startups.
The 2021 Best Workplaces for Innovators ranks 100 winners from a variety of industries, including computer science, biotech, consumer packaged goods, nonprofit, education, financial services, cybersecurity, and engineering. Working together, Fast Company editors and Accenture researchers scored hundreds applications, and a panel of judges reviewed and endorsed the top 100 companies.
We appreciate being recognized for the variety of initiatives we’ve kicked off this year and how we’ve adapted to a remote working environment as a team and as collaborators with our global clients. Our accelerator programs went completely remote, but continue to create incredible value for the startup participants and the corporate partners. For example, the Station FinTech Montreal Accelerator announced 8 participating startups from across Canada who are working with Finance Montreal, and Quebec-based financial institutions to find new ways of working together. Our venture studio portfolio continues to expand as we work with more founders to help them create new businesses. Relay raised USD $5.2M from Drive Capital to start scaling their insurance and re-insurance platform, while growing their team considerably and working with international clients.
Our team has grown a lot in 2021 as well. We’re adding new team members, onboarding them completely virtually, and doing everything we can to maintain and improve our culture of innovation, experimentation and learning. We continue to hire across our innovation services team, accelerators and within our venture studio.
We want to thank Fast Company for recognizing us as one of the most innovative workplaces around. It means a lot. But we’re not resting on our laurels–there’s more work to do, more ventures and startups to build, more ideas to try. We can always strive to get better and adapt; after all that’s what innovation is all about.
